continental united states next month on August 21st. This has not happened
since 1918. The kicker is that Greenville SC is in-line to get the full eclipse

There are many activities being planned by
several organizations in Greenville. Clemson University and Roper Mountain
Science Center are a couple. Check out my Facebook page beginning August 16th
for posts. Greenville County School District has moved it’s first day of school
from Monday to Tuesday. A one-time exception was granted in order to keep
people calm and avoid any confusion that could happen during the blackout.

The eclipse path will begin in Oregon and
sweep across the U.S. heartland into Tennessee, through the North Carolina
mountains, Greenville, Columbia, Charleston and then heading off the Atlantic
coast. The shadow path will be around 100 miles wide and will travel 1,000
miles per hour. Clemson and Anderson will get the longest duration of darkness.

Don’t forget that you will need special
glasses to view the eclipse. Staring at the sun directly can damage your eyes.

This will be an exciting event for Greenville
which will draw in out of towners by the bunches and give us a nice bump to our
