Soap? In Your Yard?

Sometimes, it’s just fun to try out some of these hacks. One in particular that I recently came across was how to get rid of bugs in your yard. Or at least deter them in a way that isn’t damaging to the environment. But this one had me a little stumped….and you’re about to see why.

Imagine taking a walk in your neighborhood right after it rains and seeing bubbles. Tons and tons and tons of bubbles. Ok, at least that’s how I interpret this because my heavens, they’re talking about SOAP!

It rains, soap forms bubbles. 1st grade science ????

So when I came across this little hack, all I could think about here in Greenville is the possibility of bubbles forming all over your yard. Maybe I’m just being overzealous, exaggerating, etc – but are you picturing the same?

They say that with putting chunks of soap in your yard, it will deter bunnies, deer, bugs such as mosquitos and bees, and maybe it even deters snakes. Supposedly it does have to be Irish Spring soap since they don’t like the smell that it projects.

Now I want to hear from you – have you tried soap in your yard? Did it work? And be honest with me – did it bubble up in a rainstorm? ????

Been thinking of moving to Greenville? Looking to upgrade or downsize your home? You have to choose the right realtor when it comes to making all of your real estate decisions.

Maybe you’ve recently visited Greenville and fell in love (I know, it’s hard not to!), or maybe you’ve lived here for years and just need to upgrade or downsize your home. Choose a realtor who will fight for you. One that will help you sell that nest you’re in right now, and simply find you a new one to build up and call “home”.

Need To Stretch Your Paws?

If you’re a dog owner or even if you’re not – it’s a great idea to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. Here are some local places which are great where you can take a walk, and enjoy the scenery along the way.

Falls Park on the Reedy – This 32 acre park shows off the Reedy as it’s natural showpiece.

Swamp Rabbit Trail – A 23 mile long path which is also traveled by bikers and joggers alike! A bonus – you can stop off at the Swamp Rabbit Brewery where your pooch is allowed to hang out too!

Conestee Nature Preserve – This wildlife sanctuary is over 600 acres! And, if you prefer an “off leash excursion” for your dog, you can take advantage of the dog park located in the preserve.

And Paris Mountain State Park – You’ll both enjoy the opportunity to access 15 miles of hiking trails through the woodlands. Not to mention, you can let your dog take a dip in one of the four lakes for some cool-off time!
