Job Opportunities Make Moving to Greenville a Must!

Job Opportunities Make Moving to Greenville a Must!

Greenville’s economy is growing with more businesses taking up shop in the downtown and surrounding areas. Now named 4th fastest growing city by the U.S. Census Bureau. So why are these people moving to Greenville. Maybe because of these major employers.

  • Greenville Health System, 14,787 health service jobs
  • School District of Greenville County, 9,800 public education jobs
  • Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, 5,047 health service jobs
  • Michelin North America Inc, 4,100 headquarters, R&D & manufacturing jobs
  • GE Power & Water, 3,400 turbines & turbine generator sets
  • SC State Government, 3,036 state government jobs
  • Fluor Corporation, 2,400 engineering & construction services jobs

There are also 18 major international, North American, national and regional corporations that have their headquarters in Greenville. Some of them are AMECO, AVX Corporation, Hubbell Lighting, Kemet Corporation, and Verizon.

Job Opportunities Make Moving to Greenville a Must!Manufacturing also plays a huge role in Greenville’s employer base with companies such as Michelin, GE Energy, Sealed Air Corp, Magna, Lockheed Martin Aircraft and Honeywell.

You will also find several inbound customer service call centers located in Greenville. Several for major corporations like Duke Energy, Ford Motor Company and Samsung.

Not to leave out technology and software development companies, we have many including Acumen IT, Green Cloud Technologies and Hitachi.

Distribution and logistics is also a major factor. Some of the major companies include ABF Freight System Inc, Atlas Cold Storage, KI Logistics, Nissan North America, Pet Dairy, Synnex and WW Grainger. There are over 70 freight lines in the Greenville-Spartanburg area and half of them have terminals. With a convenient location along the I-85 corridor, numerous specialized trucking carriers are based here.

A final tidbit on cost of living. The Cost of Living Index (COLI) has published a rating of 93.7 for 2016 annual average. An index score below 100 shows the community to be less expensive than the average of all cities throughout the U.S. while a score over 100 means it is more expensive than average.
